Is Haru a real Live2D model?
Yes. She's a real Live2D Cubism 4 model (moc3, textures, motions, expressions) rendered with pixi-live2d-display and PixiJS — a genuine rig, not a CSS imitation.
Why is it fast and SEO-friendly?
The page is prerendered to static HTML by Astro with real text, metadata and structured data. The heavy Live2D runtime is lazy-loaded only when the canvas scrolls into view, so first paint is fast and Core Web Vitals stay healthy.
Can I swap in another character?
Yes. Drop any Cubism 2/4 model into public/assets/live2d/ and point MODEL_URL in the script at its .model3.json.
Is it free? What's the license?
The site code is MIT. The sample model “Haru” is free material from Live2D Inc. and follows Live2D's terms — review them before any commercial use.
